棕榈仁油

作为油脂化工原料，采购棕榈仁油只有一个理由：碳链长度。它压榨自 Elaeis guineensis 果实的仁，与取自外层中果皮的棕榈油之间的区别并非标签细节，而是碳分布不同的另一种原料。毛油等级适合自备精炼工序的工厂；对色泽和游离脂肪酸须在入料端控制的情形，则用 RBD 等级。
转化厂购买的其实是碳链分布。脂肪酸中约一半为十二碳的月桂酸，十四碳的肉豆蔻酸占其余大部分，不饱和组分仅占很小比例。椰子油是唯一的大宗替代品，两者互为比价。不饱和度低意味着碘值低，因此该原料在加热储存中稳定，加氢硬化时耗氢量小。皂化值高则反映碳链短：每吨含有更多羧基。
转化路线有三条。油脂裂解得到月桂酸和肉豆蔻酸，可进一步精馏切割成窄馏分。甲酯加氢得到 C12 至 C14 脂肪醇，是月桂醇硫酸钠和月桂醇聚醚硫酸钠的前体。直接皂化得到月桂型皂粒。烷醇酰胺、甜菜碱和酯基季铵盐同样源自这些碳链。
