月桂醇聚醚硫酸酯钠（INCI Sodium Laureth Sulfate）相当于在 SLS 的脂肪链与硫酸基头基之间插入环氧乙烷单元，通常为两个或三个。这些单元使其更温和、溶解性更好，并对加盐增稠的响应更强。

椰油酰羟乙基磺酸钠（SCI）
椰油酰羟乙基磺酸钠（CAS 61789-32-0，INCI 名称 Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate）是一种以椰子油脂肪酸为原料制得的温和阴离子表面活性剂。它在中性 pH 下即可产生丰富泡沫，正因如此，合成（syndet）洁肤皂才得以在不具备真皂刺激性的前提下实现。
十二烷基硫酸钠（SLS）
十二烷基硫酸钠（CAS 151-21-3，INCI Sodium Lauryl Sulfate）是最常用的阴离子表面活性剂，由椰子油或棕榈仁油制得的月桂醇经硫酸化而成。发泡力强、去污力大，且成本低廉。
