椰油酰羟乙基磺酸钠通常简称 SCI，是由椰子油来源的脂肪酸与羟乙基磺酸钠酯化制得的阴离子表面活性剂。其 CAS 号为 61789-32-0，INCI 名称为 Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate，以白色至乳白色片状、针状、颗粒或粉末供应。
它的价值在于它「不是什么」。真正的肥皂是脂肪酸的钠盐，在溶液中必然呈碱性，pH 约为 9 至 10，会使皮肤屏障膨胀并受到破坏，这也是皂块洗后皮肤发紧的原因。SCI 是脂肪酸的酯而非其盐，因此在中性或弱酸性 pH 下即稳定有效，无需依靠碱性发挥作用。它同样耐硬水，不会像肥皂那样生成不溶性钙皂，即浴缸壁上留下的皂垢环。它产生的泡沫致密绵密，而非松散多泡，洗后肤感明显柔软。由于它是结晶固体而非液体，可以压制成块，这正是合成皂或复合皂得以成立的前提。
其应用包括合成（syndet）皂与复合洁肤皂、洁面产品、洗发皂、固体个人护理剂型、婴儿沐浴产品以及液体沐浴露。
