About This Product
Fatty alcohol ethoxylate, also called alcohol polyoxyethylene ether, is made by adding ethylene oxide to a fatty alcohol; the number in AEO-3, AEO-9 or AEO-15 is the average count of ethylene oxide units per molecule. Depending on that count the product is a colourless to light yellow liquid, paste or solid, with a neutral pH of 5–7 in 1% solution and an HLB between 8 and 18.
Carrying no charge, it keeps working in high-salt and hard-water conditions and resists acid and alkali. It stabilises oil-in-water emulsions in detergents and cosmetic formulations, and its wetting and penetrating action is used in textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries. Higher-EO grades dissolve in water, and the whole range dissolves in alcohol and benzene.
The data sheet gives family-wide ranges rather than limits for a single grade, so name the EO grade and agree its cloud point, hydroxyl value, water content and pH before ordering. Packs run from 5 kg bottles to 200 kg drums, and the stated shelf life is two years in cool, ventilated storage away from strong oxidants. It can irritate the eyes, so read the SDS before handling.

Confirm the evidence before ordering
Grade, origin and certification are confirmed for each proposed source. A vegetable-derived feedstock is not automatically certified sustainable, pharmaceutical grade or suitable for every application; request the evidence needed for your intended use.
