About This Product
Soy methyl ester, also called soya methyl ester, is the fatty acid methyl ester of soybean oil (CAS 68919-53-9). The biodiesel grade is specified against IS 15607:2022, whose limits include an ester content of 97.0% by mass min, a PMCC flash point of 150 °C min, sulphur at 10.0 mg/kg max, water at 750 mg/kg max, and iodine value no higher than 120 g I₂/100 g. On a tested batch, kinematic viscosity at 40 °C measured 4.85–5.10 cSt and the cold filter plugging point was 2 °C.
Its main outlet is as biodiesel, blended into mineral diesel or burned neat where engines and local rules permit. An acid value capped at 0.50 mg KOH/g and an oxidation stability at 110 °C of at least 8 h are the limits that matter most for storage and fuel-system care. The same ester can also act as a bio-based solvent or an oleochemical feedstock.
Before ordering, agree which limits of the standard apply, the test methods, the cold-flow performance needed for the climate of use and the packaging. Ask for the up-to-date specification sheet, an SDS and a lot-specific analysis certificate, then check that the fuel satisfies the blending rules and engine requirements where it will be used.

Confirm the evidence before ordering
Grade, origin and certification are confirmed for each proposed source. A vegetable-derived feedstock is not automatically certified sustainable, pharmaceutical grade or suitable for every application; request the evidence needed for your intended use.
