About This Product
This product is the mixed fatty acid of palm kernel oil after distillation and topping, the step that strips off the lightest chains so that everything up to C10 is limited to 1.6%. Lauric acid (C12) dominates at 45% or more, followed by C14 at 14–18% and C16 at 6–12%, with C18:1 at no more than 15%. Iodine value is held to 19 g I₂/100 g or less and titre to 23–28 °C; at 40 °C it is a clear liquid free from foreign matter.
It goes into surfactant manufacture, soap noodles, cosmetics and personal care products and the preparation of food ingredients, as well as industrial work such as coatings and fabric softeners. Its acid value (245 mg KOH/g minimum) and saponification value (246 mg KOH/g minimum) are the figures to use when calculating alkali for neutralisation or soap making.
Before supply, agree contract limits for colour (Lovibond 5¼ in cell, 2.5 yellow and 0.4 red maximum) and for composition, together with packaging and test methods. Obtain the current specification and SDS together with the analysis certificate for the batch; buyers using it in food or cosmetic products must confirm its suitability for that use.
