    Soy Methyl Ester (Recycled)

    About This Product

Recycled soy methyl ester (CAS 68919-53-9) carries an iodine value of 155 g I₂/100 g, well above the extra virgin grade, and an acid value limited to 1.0 mg KOH/g. Its certificate also records a pour point of 0 °C, a Gardner colour of 1, a saponification value of 190 mg KOH/g and a density of 0.878 g/ml at 25 °C. Moisture is held at 0.05% max, the 25 °C viscosity reads 5.55 cP and the closed-cup (PMCC) flash point exceeds 94 °C.

Likely outlets are industrial cleaners, parts washing and degreasing, and other solvent tasks where a bio-based ester is preferred, as well as oleochemical processing. The higher iodine value signals more unsaturation, which can shorten storage life and influence drying or oxidation in use, so suitability is best judged through trials.

Prior to supply, agree what the recycled description covers, together with the test methods, packaging and limits for the consignment, since the certificate sets out only its results. Ask for the specification, the SDS and the batch certificate of analysis, and verify that the ester is appropriate for the planned use.
