脱羧腰果壳液以 DCNSL 供应，也称技术级腰果壳液，由天然腰果壳液加热制得，加热过程中其所含腰果酸脱去二氧化碳并转化为腰果酚。它是深棕色黏稠液体，也是腰果壳液进入工业应用的主要形态。
这一变化不仅仅是酸度下降。腰果酸的羧基直接连接在芳环上，该基团热稳定性差：在树脂固化过程中会分解并释放二氧化碳，导致发泡、空隙和结果不稳定。事先将其除去，可得到在高加工温度下性能可预测的原料。剩余组分化学结构更简单，并且在树脂化学师所需的意义上反应性更强，其主要成分为腰果酚——一种带有十五碳不饱和侧链的酚。该侧链相当于内置增塑剂，因此以 DCNSL 制得的树脂比石油基酚制得的树脂更坚韧、脆性更低，残余不饱和键还提供了额外的交联点。
