About This Product
Distilled palm stearin fatty acid is the free fatty acid of palm stearin, purified by distillation. It is not a saturated stearic acid: palmitic acid makes up 56–65%, but oleic acid at 24–33% and linoleic acid at 4–8% remain in the cut, so the iodine value sits at 28–39 g I₂/100 g, with a titre of 47–53 °C. The acid value falls within 207–214 mg KOH/g and the saponification value within 208–215 mg KOH/g.
Typical outlets for a distilled palm fatty acid of this kind are soap and soap noodle bases, metal soaps, and esters, amides and other oleochemical intermediates. Because the oleic share lowers the titre, it handles and sets differently from fully saturated palm acids, and its behaviour in a given formulation should be proven by trials.
Ahead of any order, agree the colour limits (Lovibond 5¼ in cell 3.0 yellow and 0.5 red maximum; APHA 100 maximum), test methods, physical form and packaging for the lot on offer. Ask for the current specification, a safety data sheet and the lot's certificate of analysis, then check that the material suits the intended use.

Grade, origin and certification are confirmed for each proposed source. A vegetable-derived feedstock is not automatically certified sustainable, pharmaceutical grade or suitable for every application; request the evidence needed for your intended use.
