About This Product
Stearic acid 1842 places C18 at 40.0–44.0% and C16 at 52.00–59.00% of its fatty acid composition, a triple-pressed blend in which palmitic acid still predominates. The specification, analysed to GB/T 9104-2008, calls for white beads or flakes of 60 Hazen max. Its acid and saponification values are 207.0–211.0 and 208.0–212.0 mg KOH/g respectively; 0.50 g I₂/100 g is the iodine value ceiling, moisture is held to 0.20% max, and melting occurs over 53.0–57.0 °C.
The grade contributes emulsifying, dispersing, stabilising, defoaming and antistatic properties. Cosmetic and personal care formulation, candles including paraffin-based pillar blends, PVC and other plastics, and rubber compounds are its main fields; metallic stearates and fatty acid esters are made from it too.
Several documents exist for this grade, including sheets based on titre rather than melting point, and a closely related 1843 option with C18:0 at 41–45%, C16 at 53–57% and titre at 54–56 °C. Treat each as a separate, complete specification and name the one required. The choice between 25 kg and jumbo bags, the batch certificate, the SDS and fitness for the end use should all be settled before supply.

Confirm the evidence before ordering
Grade, origin and certification are confirmed for each proposed source. A vegetable-derived feedstock is not automatically certified sustainable, pharmaceutical grade or suitable for every application; request the evidence needed for your intended use.
