    Stearic Acid 1890 (C18 88.0–94.0%)

    About This Product

Stearic acid 1890 is close to a single-chain material: C18 makes up 88.0–94.0% of it, instead of sharing the content with palmitic acid as the blended grades do. The result is a tight melting range of 65.0–68.0 °C. Acid value lies within 196.0–202.0 mg KOH/g, saponification value within 197.0–203.0 mg KOH/g; iodine value may not exceed 0.50 g I₂/100 g, nor Hazen colour 60.

Where purity governs performance, this grade goes into pharmaceutical and personal-care formulation, emulsifier and ester production, high-purity metallic stearates and products that call for low colour and odour. Soap, emulsifier and lubricant manufacture are its documented commercial markets.

Each order should state the form, packing and documents required; the specification sheet gives 25 kg bag and jumbo bag packing. Paperwork supporting a particular end use is agreed order by order, so obtain it together with safety and lot analysis records. For pharmaceutical or personal-care work, confirm that the grade meets the requirements of that use and verify it in your own formulation first.
