About This Product
In this grade, saturated C18 must make up at least 95.0% of the fatty acids. Chains of C16 and below may not exceed 3.0%, C18:1 and above 1.0% and other fatty acids 2.0%, and the titre falls between 66 and 69 °C. The acid value range is 193–202 mg KOH/g against a saponification value of 194–203 mg KOH/g, with colour limits of 2 Y 0.3 R (Lovibond, 5¼-inch cell) and 90 APHA maximum.
Cosmetics manufacture is its documented commercial use, within the wider soap and personal-care market. With so little palmitic or unsaturated acid present, it solidifies at a markedly higher titre than grades where C16 predominates.
The iodine value limit of 1.0 maximum is printed without a reliable unit, so confirm the reporting basis at enquiry. Packing is not stated for this grade: agree pack size, form and the documents needed, including safety information and a batch analysis, and make sure it is suitable for the intended cosmetic or other use before ordering.
